Naweed Rahyab is the Founder and CEO of the Newcomer Access & Empowerment Society (NAES). With over 15 years of leadership experience in financial management, operations, and people management, he is dedicated to building teams, supporting communities, and creating opportunities for growth.
As an immigrant, Naweed understands the challenges newcomers face in Canada. He has worked in career readiness programs and supported many newcomer families in achieving stability and employment. His volunteer work with organizations such as MOSAIC, DIVERSEcity, and other nonprofits has deepened his expertise in settlement and integration.
Through NAES, Naweed focuses on job creation, mentorship, and inclusive programs that equip newcomers with the skills and confidence to thrive. His vision is a community where every newcomer is welcomed with dignity and empowered to succeed in Canada.

He holds a master’s degree in social communication sciences and brings both leadership and community-focused expertise to his role at NAES.
His vision is to create inclusive opportunities that support newcomers in building empowered and sustainable lives in Canada.

Abdul Wali Karimi brings over 20 years of experience working with local and international organizations, including banks and nonprofit organizations in Canada and abroad. Abdul Wali Karimi brings over 20 years of experience working with local and international organizations, including banks and nonprofit organizations in Canada and abroad. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles such as Human Resources Director, Human Resources Manager, Employment Development Manager, Community Case Worker Supervisor, and Quality Control Coordinator.
In addition to his professional career, Abdul Wali has contributed extensively as a volunteer with the Aga Khan National Council for Afghanistan and the Aga Khan National Council for British Columbia, Canada. He has played a key role in newcomer settlement programs, serving as Employment Team Lead, Housing and Financial Education Guide, and Newcomer Family Mentor, supporting individuals and families in their integration journey.
Abdul Wali holds a Master of Science in Human Resources from the University of Liverpool, UK, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. His combined expertise in people management, community development, and employment services makes him a valuable member of the board.
